From the Desk of the Membership Chair

Dr. Flo Weierbach, Associate Professor, East Tennessee State University

ACHNE members are reaching out to other nurse educators about Collaboration Advocacy Leadership Mentorship (CALM). Three members, Kelly Strickland (immediate past Southern member at Large), Amanda Madrid (western member at large), and Mark Siemon (treasurer) were at the NLN education conference in Las Vegas creating excitement about ACHNE and CALM. They reached out to all with over 120 nurse educators expressing interest in joining with at least two joining during the conference.

The regional members at large are following up with the educators who expressed an interest, along with nurse educators who were enrolled in the wonderful webinar sponsored by the education committee “ACHNE Education Committee Sponsored webinar, “Community/Public/Population Health and the Next Gen NCLEX; What’s going on?”

As you can see, ACHNE has a lot to share with others. How will you assist in getting the word out? If you are going to APHA in Boston this year or the AACN undergraduate conference in Chicago please let Flo Weierbach (fweierbch@gmail.com) know!  Plans are underway to create an ACHNE presence at both of these conferences. Also, did you know that your College/school/department can join and have your nursing program(s) information shared on the ACHNE home page for all to see? If you are interested in learning more about institutional membership reach out to Flo Weierbach or Roxy West (achne@meinet.com).

If you have questions about membership, reach out to your regional Member-at-Large.
