Archives Committee

The Past President Interview Project is in full swing. This oral history project summarizes ACHNE’s Past Presidents’ rich history and contributions to education and community/public/population health nursing and records their perspectives of ACHNE’s development during their term as President. In 2022, the Archives Committee piloted the process and completed 3 interviews: there are 2 additional interviews planned for this Winter/Spring. Currently, 17 out of 23 (74%) of ACHNE’s Past Presidents have been interviewed and those transcripts are housed at the Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing at UPENN where nursing researchers and others can access them.

If you or a student are interested in the oral history process, we welcome your participation in the project! We are in a critical time to capture ACHNE’s contributions to education and community/public/population health nursing: Past President interviews are one avenue to accomplish this. The interviews use a pretested guide and the process is streamlined using Zoom’s transcription process. Please contact us if you are interested and/or have questions.
