ACHNE Member Spotlight: Ferry Efendi, PhD
Dr. Ferry Efendi is an Associate Professor at the School of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia, specializing in Community Health Nursing. He earned his PhD in 2017 from the prestigious National Cheng Kung University Taiwan. As a scholar, Dr. Efendi’s work has consistently pushed boundaries, focusing on pivotal global health nursing issues. His expertise in nursing migration addresses critical challenges like ethical recruitment, fair labor practices, and ensuring health equity for migrant nurses, a subject that resonates deeply in today’s interconnected world.
Among his innovative contributions is his leadership on Pasar Kerja Perawat (Nurse Labor Market), an Android-based app connecting over 6,000 healthcare professionals across Indonesia and beyond. Through this platform, Dr. Efendi continues to transform the recruitment landscape for nurses, providing a more ethical and efficient way to meet the demands of healthcare services globally.
Dr. Efendi’s impact extends to collaborative projects with Indonesia’s Ministry of Health, particularly in human resource development. He is also a dedicated member of ACHNE, where his role on the Research Committee reflects his commitment to advancing community health policies and nurturing the next generation of nursing leaders.
