Tuesday, October 17 (Site Visits)

Participants will be divided into two groups and loaded on buses for a unique experience at each site:

Distributor Location: Abbott Rubber: Hands-on and classroom.

Abbott Rubber has been in business since 1951 and serves the OEM and distributor marketplace.  They are an original member of HSI and a lead source for a broad range of customers around the world.  The classroom topic:  A Deep-Dive into STAMPED.

Manufacturer Location: Worldwide Fittings: Tour and classroom.

Founded in 1950 as World Wide Supply, World Wide Fittings has grown into a global manufacturer of steel and stainless hydraulic tube and pipe fittings. Headquartered in Vernon Hills, IL our domestic manufacturing plant emcompasses a 110,000 square foot facility. The classroom topic:  Focus on Hydraulic Fittings.

HSI Hands-On: OCT 16-17, 2023

This program is designed to promote and encourage the adoption of HSI guidelines and best practices in hose design, manufacturing, and fabrication. Attendees will participate in interactive classroom learning and have hands-on experiences in a variety of hose types. 

Leveraging local member resources, training will be conducted in both a manufacturing and distributor environment.  Activities at each site will showcase and demonstrate how HSI guidelines are used in practice.

This program is specifically designed for those newer to the industry, inside and outside sales, as well as customer support personnel. This hands-on training, by industry experts, is a value add to any training and development program.

Registration is $365 pp   It includes lunch on Monday & Tuesday, the networking reception, and transportation to and from our hands-on sites.

Thomas Atkins, Uniflex, Service Technician

Thomas has been working at Uniflex since 2018.  He has 14 years of experience with industrial equipment andThomas Atkins controls and a further 6 years of experience in the trades.  As a service technician, Thomas is a part of the first point of contact for technical support.  Along with answering technical questions and providing information for replacement parts directly with Uniflex’s customers, he provides training for equipment both onsite and remotely, onsite and in house service, component level repair of proprietary controllers, and custom modifications and upgrades to Uniflex’s machines.  Thomas is excited to be a part of Uniflex’s future.

 

Scott Bauman, Danfoss Power Solution, Product Manager, Rubber Hydraulics Hose & Fitting

Scott has spent his entire career in the fluid conveyance business and was a part of the
acquisition of EatonScott Bauman Hydraulics to Danfoss.  Scott joined Eaton as an Engineering Co-Op before completing his degree and becoming a full time Product Application Engineer in 2014.  Since then, he has held roles in Program Management and now Product Management.  Scott is currently located in the Maumee, Ohio Technical Center, but has previously worked in Van Wert, Ohio and Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree from Ohio Northern University in 2014 and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Cincinnati in 2021.  Additionally, he is a certified Professional Engineer (PE) and Project Management Professional (PMP).

 

 

Nino Guzina, Uniflex, Regional Sales Manager

As Regional Sales Manager with extensive experience in OEM and workshop hose assemblyNino Guzina
processes, Nino’s current role involves overseeing and leading the sales team at Uniflex of America. His knowledge in hose assembly entails a comprehensive understanding of the industry, from large scale production to end user assembly settings. For over 50 years, UNIFLEX has been a leading provider of hose line manufacturing solutions including crimpers, cutting machines, skiving machines, testing systems and more.  

 

 

Jake Kreuz, Uniflex, Operations Manager

Jake Kreuz

Jake started working at Uniflex of America in 2012 and he has been in his current role
as Operations Manager since 2018.  Jake started out at the bottom by handling all the day to day tasks including order processing, inventory control, shipping and receiving,
all while learning the business of hose assembling. As Operations Manager at Uniflex, Jake oversees the Service Department and runs the Warehouse Team that handles
all of Uniflex’s inventory, order processing and order fulfillment requirements. With his background in hospitality, Jake also plays a big role in customer service relations when navigating quality control issues, and by organizing and participating in several trade shows and other sales related events each year. While he has grown at Uniflex, the team has grown from 4 to 13 employees and also tripled annual sales turnover since 2012.  Jake looks forward to helping Uniflex continue this growth in the years to come.

 

Brent Lilly, PT Coupling, Vice President- Sales & Marketing

Brent Lilly is a 41-year veteran of the Fluid Power & Conveyance, Hose/Accessories, Motion
Control, andBrent Lilly Power Transmission segments within the Industrial Marketplace. During that time, he has worked for industry leaders such as: The Gates Corporation, Titan Hose, Parker Hannifin, HBD/Thermoid, and PT Coupling. Currently Brent is PT’s Vice President- Sales & Marketing, in that capacity he manages all employees and activities for their Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service Teams. In addition, he has served a 4-year term on the NAHAD Board of Directors. Over the course of his career Brent has participated as a Trainer, Presenter, and Panelist for Conferences, Training Sessions, and Workshops. He has also authored several articles featured in industry publications, covering a variety of topics in his areas of expertise.

 

Tim O'Neill, Kuriyama, Marketing Manager

Tim joined Kuriyama in 2007 as their Tigerflexä Product Manager, where he led development
of the Tim ONeill2 Voltbusterä Material Handling Hose, Chemical Processing Magazine's 2013 Vaaler Award winner for Excellence in Powder and Solids Handling.  He currently serves as Kuriyama’s Marketing Manager, where he helps guide developmental and promotional strategies for Kuriyama’s lines of Kuri Tec Hose and Tubing, Tigerflex Industrial Hose, Alfagomma Industrial Hose, Hose Tec Metal Hose, KuriCrimp Crimpers, KOA Industrial Couplings, Kuriyama Sheet Rubber and others. Prior to his time at Kuriyama Tim worked in marketing for consumer products companies such as Salton, Inc. and Fiskars Brands.

 

Bruce Riley, Ultra Clean Technologies, Owner, CEO

Bruce has been in the hose industry since 1982 and has been the CEO of Ultra CleanBruce Riley
Technologies Corporation for 24 years.  Bruce enjoys training and education to customers
as well as he loves new product development.  Ultra Clean has been a NAHAD member since 1986.
