The third annual Wound Care Seminar will take place Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Embassy Suites Columbus (Airport). The seminar, which offers 6 hours of Ohio Category 1 CME credits, will feature lectures on the hottest topics in Wound Care from leading experts in the field.

This Seminar has been accredited by the Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Foundation Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Committee (the certifying agency in Ohio for podiatry). CME credit is established at 6 Category I contact hours for the State Medical Board of Ohio.

Cancellations

About the Faculty:
Richard Schilling, DPM - Chairman
Dr. Schilling is an esteemed podiatric physician with 20 years of experience. He is licensed in Ohio and is board certified in foot surgery. Dr. Schilling graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 2002 with a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine and completed a residency at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, as well as a Fellowship training in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Weil Foot and Ankle Institute in Des Plaines, IL. Through his education and years of experience, Dr. Schilling has developed specializations in diabetic foot care, sports medicine, reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, and wound care. Dr. Schilling is affiliated with several hospitals in his hometown of Columbus, OH, including Mount Carmel East Hospital. Dr. Schilling is a past president of the Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Association and is on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Foundation.
Sarah Abshier, DPM
Dr. Abshier is in a multispecialty practice in Columbus Ohio. She is a board certified podiatrist and certified wound care specialist. She is past President of OHFAMA and member of the OHFAMA Foundation board of directors. She is Ohio's current private insurance advisory committee (PIAC) representative to APMA. Dr. Abshier is APMAs alternative representative to the AMA CPT Editorial Panel where procedure codes are created and reworked. She has been a member of the APMA coding committee leadership since 2017 and has served as an expert on wound care patent cases.
Andrew Crisologo, DPM
Dr. Andrew Crisologo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in diabetic limb salvage and serves as Medical Director of Diabetic Limb Salvage for Parkland Memorial Hospital and is the associate director of the Diabetic Limb Salvage Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Crisologo earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University. He completed a residency at the Ohio State University Medical Center and later completed a fellowship in both diabetic limb salvage and diabetic limb salvage clinical research at UT Southwestern. He is board certified by the ABPM, with additional Certificates of Added Qualification in Amputation Prevention and Wound Care, and Podiatric Surgery. He was inducted as Fellow Faculty of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2021.
Jane Emerick, MD
Dr. Emerick has been on the medical staff of Mount Carel St Ann’s, East since 1989. She is a board-certified Infectious Disease physician working with COPC, Mt Carmel St Ann’s and East and the wound centers at St Ann’s and East. She graduated from MCO in Toledo and did her Infectious Disease fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical Center. She is involved in leadership at Mt Carmel St Ann’s including Chairman, Infection Control Committee; Medical Director of the Wound Care Center; Physician Leader of Antibiotics Stewardship Committee and Member at Large on the Medical Executive Committee. In addition, she is a member of the Mt Carel Credentials Committee and Physician Advisor for the Employee Health for Met Carmel System.
C. Graham Frazier, DPM
Dr. C. Graham Frazier completed his undergraduate degree at the University of TN in Knoxville, then studied for his doctorate in podiatric medicine at KSCUPM in Ohio. After graduation, he undertook his residency at the Ohio State University College of Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedics, where he became chief resident. Since 2007, Dr. Frazier has been providing specialized wound care at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN. In 2009 he started his family-run practice, Frazier Foot & Ankle, and currently practices with Highpoint Foot and Ankle, a division of the Department of Orthopedics, as the sole inpatient provider of lower extremity wound care services for Sumner Regional Medical Center, a 167 bed, level 2 trauma center based out of Gallatin, TN.
Wenjay Sung, DPM
Dr. Wenjay Sung is an active managing investor, comic book creator, and practicing physician. A native of Cincinnati, Dr. Sung completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and his fellowship at the Weil Foot & Ankle Orthopedic Institute in Chicago. Having since lectured nationally and internationally, Dr. Sung was awarded the ACFAS Clinical and Scientific Research Grant, published numerous scientific articles and book chapters, and achieved several recognitions in his career including the Rising Star Award from the California Podiatric Medical Association, Top Doctor from Pasadena Magazine and America's Most Influential Podiatrist from Podiatry Management Magazine.
Timothy Yates, MD
Dr. Yates is a Nebraska native who completed his undergraduate BA in Spanish with a minor in music (voice/guitar). Of note, he spent his senior year of college at the University of Málaga, Spain, where he became fluent in Spanish language and interpretation, as well as studied classical and flamenco guitar. He then completed the premedical program at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He then completed medical school at the NE College of Medicine where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha with high distinction. He completed radiology training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach and his Vascular & Interventional Radiology fellowship at the Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute at Baptist Hospital in Miami. In practice, he specializes in critical limb ischemia and limb salvage in the diabetic foot. He also specializes in the management of deep vein thrombosis and Interventional oncology for the management of hepatic tumors. He has been active in medical societies through talks and social media and advocates using these platforms for improving medical education.
