Dean Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) Central Ohio Extension Campus (COEC) — Dublin, OH

Ohio University invites applications for the position of Dean of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine’s new Central Ohio Extension Campus in Dublin, Ohio. OU-HCOM will consider applicants on a part-time basis (minimum 0.25 FTE) to a full-time basis of 1.00 FTE status. Position must be full-time by summer 2013.

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Executive Dean, provides leadership and has significant authority for all aspects of the campus including the development, implementation and growth. Serves as the chief operational and academic officer of the COEC of OU-HCOM with the first cohort of 50 osteopathic medical students beginning classes in 2014. Exercises budget authority for the COEC within parameters set by the Executive Dean. Maintain Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) compliance for an “additional location” of an osteopathic medical school. Collaborate with Osteopathic Heritage Foundations (OHF) grant team leaders, OhioHealth leadership, other area health systems, and central Ohio physicians to implement OHF-grant funded projects, including promoting retention of OU-HCOM graduates to practice primary care in central Ohio. Supervises staff at COEC. Serves on HCOM committees and boards.

Qualifications: Candidates are required to hold a D.O. degree from an accredited institution; residency training in primary care preferred. Candidates must have a professional, scholarly and/or research record appropriate to a tenured academic appointment, or equivalent extensive health care and graduate medical education experience. Medical administrative, educational and/or organizational leadership skills are required.
