Ohio House Passes HB 196

The OSCA announced today that legislation naming October as “Chiropractic Awareness Month” passed out of the House of Representatives. The floor vote was a unanimous, 91-0.

The genesis of the bill stems from the American Chiropractic Association’s promotion of National Chiropractic Health Month. As opposed to a proclamation or resolution that is needed every year to commemorate the month of October, this bill will put into law forever designating the month as Chiropractic Awareness Month.

House Bill 196 was introduced on May 2nd and passed out of the House Health Committee unanimously on May 17th .

The bill now moves to the Senate where it has yet to be assigned to a committee.
