Join us as Diane Zucker leads a 90-minute webinar to discuss the G codes Medicare initiated in 2024 and 2025 to help support reimbursement for the care provided by primary care and specialists. We will also review how to best document medical decision making for care provided to assure that insurance programs cannot down code services that were correctly provided and coded. With telehealth still in flux we will review the current status of telehealth with a quick review of the new CPT codes and how this type of service impacts both medical providers and mental health care.
Agenda:
- Update on the current status with Medicare and any changes in reimbursement levels, telehealth and basic coding process.
- Review of the G codes initiated in 2024 and 2025 and opportunities for reimbursement for care provided with these codes in 2025.
- Details on each of the 8 major G codes.
- Details on each of the 8 major G codes.
- A review of the current status of telehealth, the new CPT codes in 2025 and how to manage this process if covered or if not covered past 3/14/2025.
- A review of medical necessity documentation and coding to avoid downcoding and take backs by insurance programs.
- Time for Q&A (open to all areas).
Goals and Objectives:
- The participants will have the knowledge needed to use the new G codes correctly in all places of care permitted based on the specific code.
- The participants will be able to identify telehealth coding based on CPT guidelines versus CMS process for 2025. This will include a discussion of how to handle telehealth if this is not covered by CMS as a self-pay service.
- The participants will be able to identify the criteria for medical decision making related to E/M services in all locations and how best to document this to reduce the risks for downcoding by third party programs.
