Welcome!
The United States Association for Energy Economics is a non-profit organization of business, government, academic, and other professionals that advances the understanding and application of economics across all facets of energy development and use, including theory, business, public policy, and environmental considerations.

This past year high energy prices exacerbated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine have been the primary culprit for inflation globally. Today, economic data suggests that inflation is slowing, and economic activity is continuing to expand. But for the first time in over a decade, energy security has been front and center of energy policy discussion since Russian’s invasion began in February of 2022.
At the same time governments and privately held companies are still pursuing aggressive greenhouse gas emission reductions. There have simultaneously been debates over whether policies aimed at achieving emissions reductions and energy security are complements or substitutes.
These and other topics will be discussed at the 40th Annual National Conference of the U.S. Association for Energy Economics, taking place on November 5-8, 2023 in Chicago IL.

Working Papers
The USAEE and IAEE have combined efforts to create a working paper series that gives all USAEE/IAEE members a chance to increase the circulation, visibility, and impact of their research. If you have an unpublished research paper that addresses any aspect of energy economics or energy policy, we would like to feature your paper in this new series. There is no cost to you, only benefits!
