West Chester Township Fire Department
West Chester Township has an immediate need to fill the position of Fire Chief. The Township seeks a visionary leader responsible for managing a dedicated staff of 143 fire safety employees (career, part time & civilian). The successful candidate must possess a proven record of integrity and the leadership, management and interpersonal skills to inspire, motivate, guide, direct and challenge all Department staff to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications include a minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible full-time Fire/EMS service experience, with 5 or more years of permanent assignment as a command officer (i.e. Battalion Chief /shift officer or above), and the following State of Ohio certifications: Firefighter Level II, CFSI, and a valid Ohio Operator’s License. Applicants must also possess an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, Business Administration or related field.
Desired qualifications include EMT-P, EMT-B, Hazardous Materials-Technician, Fire and/or EMS instructor certification, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science, Fire Administration or related field. Completion of the Ohio Fire Executive Program (OFE) or Executive Fire Officer Program (EFO) is also desirable.
