Full-time and Part-time Firefighter/Paramedics

Jefferson Township Fire Department-Franklin County is accepting applications for Full-time and Part-time Firefighter/Paramedics. Candidates must be registered with the Fire Department by 4 p.m., February 6, 2015. The FireTEAM exam and the Personal History Questions through National Testing Network must be completed by February 20, 2015.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

1. Pick up an application at the fire station, 6767 Havens Corners Road, Blacklick, Ohio, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays or download the application online from our township website: www.jeffersontownship.org.

Applications must be received by 4 p.m. February 6, 2015.

2. Testing services for the position of Full-time / Part-time Firefighter/Paramedic are through National Testing Network, Inc. To schedule an exam and complete the personal history questions go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select “Firefighter Jobs” then select “Jefferson Township Fire Department”. The department requires the candidate to complete the Personal History Questions.

You can access the questionnaire through your candidate account. We recommend completing the Personal History Questions as soon as possible to ensure continuing in the process. Upon completion of the entry-level exam and personal history questions, candidate scores are automatically forwarded to the Jefferson Township Fire Department.

BASIC JOB INFORMATION:

Salary Information: Starting Rate: Full-time - $46,974/year
Part-time - $13.44/hour

Necessary Certifications: Ohio Firefighter Level II-Ohio Paramedic

Work Schedule:
Full-time -The work schedule is 24 hours on-duty/48 hours off-duty.
Part-time - The appointee will be assigned to a Unit (shift) and will work for 24 hours, on an every sixth day rotation. Part-time Firefighters may work to a maximum of 1500 hours annually.

Background Check, Medical and Physical Condition:
Candidates must successfully complete a pass-fail physical agility test and pass a background check. If offered employment, the appointee must undergo and successfully clear a physical examination. The appointee must also successfully pass a drug screening test. Any of the following may be cause to rescind an offer of employment: 1) Positive results of the drug test, 2) Disclosure during the physical examination of a physical condition, which prevents the appointee from functioning as a Firefighter/Paramedic, 3) Failure to successfully complete the physical agility test.
