Ohio Opiate Conference: Turning the Tide Together

Hyatt Regency, Columbus

The Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities (OACBHA), in partnership with the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services and the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission, is pleased to present Ohio’s 2013 Opiate Conference: Turning the Tide Together. Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in one of three Pre-Conference Workshops on the afternoon of April 29, as well as the full Conference on April 30.

OACBHA is excited to announce that U.S. Senator Rob Portman and Chris Jones, a health scientist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will be the keynote speakers on April 30.

The Ohio State Board of Pharmacy will be presenting a program qualifying for 0.15 CEU of jurisprudence CE for pharmacists. State Board member Kevin Mitchell, R.Ph. will include an overview of HB 93/SB 301; OARRS updates; and other opiate strategies implemented by the Board of Pharmacy.  Pharmacist attendance at the Summit is always encouraged, especially this year.

Other Ohio state and local leaders will share their efforts and plans to address Ohio’s opiate epidemic, while a cross-section of professionals dealing with the health, legal and community implications will share how they are working to address the issues.

This year’s conference promises to be bigger and better than ever! Go to http://www.oacbha.org/ohios_2013_opiate_conference.php for conference details, pre-conference information, breakout session specifics, and registration rates in the brochure. A link to online registration is included as well.
