Committees, Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and Workgroups
Get Involved by Volunteering for a Committee, SIG and/or Workgroup!
As a member-driven Association, we need YOU to advance OPA and our profession, and you can do so by joining a committee, SIG, and/or workgroup. These groups act on issues of importance to the profession, the Association and its members. We invite you to become involved and engaged as a committee, workgroup and/or SIG member.
You will be requested to attend the meetings (in-person and/or virtually 4-8 times per year), support your fellow members, and help to complete the tasks and activities of the committee or SIG.
A description of OPA committees, SIGs and Workgroups may be found below.
Committees
Committees are standing bodies of the Association tasked with implementing our goals in their area of focus. Goals and tasks for the Committees are reviewed each year, and the Chairs of the Committees are appointed by the President.
Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Special Interest Groups are established by the Board of Trustees to serve as spaces to unify members on a topic or specialty area of practice and advance their goals.
Workgroups and/or Task Forces
Workgroups are temporary bodies established around a time-bound, actionable goal to implement changes within the Association
