Part Time Marketing/Graphic Design Assistant

The Michigan Society of Hematology and Oncology seeks a part-time marketing/graphic design assistant.

The desired individual will support all marketing efforts through strong internal and external communication skills, creative marketing ideas, design of creative graphic elements that maintain the continuity of the MSHO brand throughout the entire marketing mix (in print, publications, online, email marketing, promotional products, etc). Candidate must be a team player who understands the importance of communication and adhering to deadlines. Creativity, hard work, a positive attitude and dedication are musts.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing materials and communication tools
  • Design media and advocacy campaigns/materials
  • Precise editing of all materials
  • Communicate internally with key partners on projects
  • Take initiative, be involved, be active and be creative
  • Communicate with outside print vendors, relaying specifications for production
  • Serve as a checkpoint in regards to logo usage, graphic standards, etc.
  • Ability to manage varied, parallel assignments in deadline-driven environment
  • Create and schedule content, graphics and campaigns for social medial platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Photograph MSHO sponsored events
  • Manage website content
  • Website updates, rebuilds and maintenance as determined

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but work experience will be considered
  • Three to five years of verifiable employment experience
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments under time constraints and meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of computers and the ability to learn new software programs
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Photography experience a plus

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent design sense
  • Ability to be comfortable and energetic in the creative process
  • Highly organized
