One Simple Change Cut Unnecessary Imaging for Cancer Patients in Half

(Penn Medicine) June 27, 2019 - Simply introducing a default physician order — a “nudge” — into electronic health records (EHRs) cut the use of unnecessary daily imaging in half during palliative radiation therapy sessions for patients with advanced cancer, according to a Penn Medicine study published today in JAMA Oncology. We launched our Treatment Transport pilot program a few weeks ago, and we were thrilled by your feedback. I’m excited to share that we have now expanded our ridesharing services to cover people living with 60 different illnesses!
 
Now, any patient—not just PAN grant recipients—being treated for any of PAN's 60 covered diseases can apply to receive affordable and on-demand rides to treatment services.
