As always, CMS is looking for ways to “simplify” and to reduce their costs – who isn’t? This time, it is a proposed, mandatory “pilot” program to bundle radiation payments. The proposed Alternative Payment Model (APM) will, if (or when) enacted, bundle all services delivered into a single payment for technical services and another single payment for professional services. There are proposed rates for each of 17 different disease groups. What would the results look like for your center? Might it be a disaster or a boon?
