June is Cancer Immunotherapy Awareness Month

Immunotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses substances made by the body or in a laboratory to boost the immune system and help the body find and destroy cancer cells. Using a variety of methods, immunotherapy can stop or slow the growth of cancer cells, stop cancer from spreading to new parts of the body (also called metastasis), and help the immune system better destroy cancer cells.
