Government Relations Committee

The Committee monitors local legislative and regulatory issues which are brought forward from the five Northern Virginia jurisdictional subcommittees (Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William). CREDA members may serve on one or more subcommittees depending upon their interests and expertise. A member may also serve on a subcommittee without serving on the Government Relations Committee. Draft positions, which are formulated through the committee and subcommittee process, are taken before the CREDA Board of Directors for discussion and approval. Members are often asked to participate in task forces or commissions dealing with industry related issues. The Committee is also responsible for working with the Virginia Association for Commercial Real Estate (VACRE) to monitor statewide legislation and regulatory issues and to develop strategies which VACRE pursues at the State Capitol.
Meeting Schedule:
The Government Relations Committee meets on the third Tuesday of the month at lunchtime. Each subcommittee has its own meeting schedule.
