Assistant or Associate Clinicl Professor of PA Practice

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN DUBLIN, OH

Ohio University, Division of Physician Assistant Practice, seeks applications and nominations for a non-tenure track Clinical Faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor depending upon qualifications. This is a one year, 11 month full-time term appointment. We seek a candidate with a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Rank, salary, and teaching expertise are negotiable as we are seeking the best and most qualified person for the position. Those with expertise in primary care and/or cardiology are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach courses in their specific area of expertise, conduct scholarly activity, participate in student selection and admissions process, provide academic and career counseling, and work in collaboration with Program Director and Director of Clinical Education to provide course and clinical oversight.

It is expected that the candidate will have a record of success in clinical practice.

The Division of Physician Assistant Practice began offering the Master of Physician Assistant Practice Degree beginning with its inaugural class in 2015. We accept approximately 35 students per year into our 27 month program. We are located in Dublin, Ohio in a state of the art academic facility. The Division of Physician Assistant Practice is within the School of Rehabilitation and Communication Sciences in the College of Health Science and Professions (http://www.ohio.edu/chsp).

Candidates must have a master’s degree relevant to clinical practice of physician assistants, current NCCPA certification and eligibility for licensure in OH and a minimum of three years of clinical experience. MD/DO, PhD or equivalent will be considered.

Prefer candidates with expertise in primary care, cardiology, and women’s health.

Previous experience working with PA students either as faculty or as a clinical preceptor.

Previous experience in PA Program

Development and ARC-PA accreditation.

Evidence of successful graduate teaching.

Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

Strong organizational and computer skills.

Commitment to active learning and use of technology in the learning process.

Commitment to involvement in professional organizations.

Demonstrated success in clinical practice and /or teaching.
