Toledo SAAAPA Had an Active PA Week

Physician assistant students at the University of Toledo participated in National PA Week by organizing numerous events.

The celebration started on Saturday, October 4th with the 2nd Annual Race for Victory, 5K run/3K walk. With over 130 participants, UT's SAAAPA organization and practicing Northwest Ohio physician assistants raised more than $3,500 to donate to The Victory Center, a local non-profit organization which supports and educates cancer patients and their families through individual and group programs.

On Monday, October 6th two community PAs shared their career experiences with the SAAAPA members during a brown-bag lunch meeting. Continuing on Wednesday, October 8th four 2nd year PA students represented the University of Toledo and distributed physician assistant program information in the cafeteria of Toledo Hospital along with other students from surrounding PA programs.

The first year PA students hosted a bake sale in the cafeteria of the University of Toledo Medical Center on Thursday, October 9th to promote the PA profession and raised over $150 to benefit SAAAPA.

The PA week activities concluded Thursday evening as SAAAPA members provided refreshments to undergraduate students at the University of Toledo during a PA profession and program information session.

Overall, the SAAAPA members at the University of Toledo had great success promoting the physician assistant profession around the Toledo area for National PA Week.
