On-Demand CME: COPD Pharmacology and Updates on Treatment
This one hour, on-demand CME program takes a deep dive into COPD Pharmacology and Updates on Treatment with Dr. Stephanie Zampino, PharmD, BCPS.
The program includes a review of the pharmacotherapeutic options for COPD, approach for managing a patient with COPD, and important GOLD guideline updates.
By viewing this program, participants will be able to:
- Review GOLD classification and assessment of individuals with COPD
- Discuss pharmacologic treatment options for patients with COPD
- Compare and contrast the different types of inhalers and how they work
- Select appropriate initial and follow-up inhaler therapy utilizing updates to the GOLD Guidelines
Dr. Stephanie Zampino is a Clinical Lead Pharmacist in Internal Medicine and Transitions of Care at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio, as well as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), in Rootstown, Ohio. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from NEOMED in 2018 and completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Summa Health after which she obtained board certification as a pharmacotherapy specialist. At Summa, Dr. Zampino rounds with an interprofessional medical team to provide care for a diverse population of adult patients in an underserved community. At NEOMED, she teaches a wide range of pharmacotherapeutic disease states and is a course director for interprofessional education. Dr. Zampino has received awards for precepting of pharmacy residents as well as humanitarian work completed for the NEOMED Student Run Free Clinic, of which she serves in an advisory role.
