Houston, Here We Come! OAPA Delegates to Represent Ohio PAs at the National Level

UPDATED: Read the recap of the 2024 AAPA House of Delegates!

The 2024 American Academy of Physician Associates Conference takes place this week (May 18-22) in Houston, Texas, drawing thousands of PAs from across the country to learn, network, and advance PA practice. Before the conference begins, the 2024 AAPA House of Delegates (HOD) will convene to review and adopt proposed resolutions that impact AAPA governance and operations and the broader PA profession.

OAPA is proud to have these 9 members representing our organization in Houston for the HOD:
  • Chief Delegate, Josanne Pagel, MPAS, PA-C, DFAAPA, Karuna®RMT
  • Melissa Bowlby, PA-C
  • David Dzurick, PA-C
  • Patricia Hirkala, PA-C
  • Lynn Pagliaccio, PA-C
  • Jennifer Richardson, PA-C
  • Mel Roxas, PA-C
  • JP Thompson, PA-C
  • Shannon Urena, PA-C
As one of the larger state delegations, these volunteers work together to propose resolutions for HOD consideration, review resolutions from other states, caucuses, and groups within AAPA to evaluate potential impact, and determine how to vote to best represent the needs of Ohio PAs.

The Ohio delegates will have two resolutions before the 2024 HOD. The first is a proposal to create a task force to review AAPA's existing governance structure to assess whether it meets membership needs. The second is a recommendation that AAPA link its membership application out to constituent organization websites to promote PA membership in state organizations along with the national level. They have also closely reviewed and discussed the nearly 70 resolutions to identify areas of concern, support, or inquiry.

OAPA appreciates these members who are well-prepared and ready to proudly represent Ohio at the 2024 AAPA House of Delegates.
