Prescribing Opioids to Minors - Model Consent Form Available

Beginning September 17, 2014 a new law requires a prescriber to obtain written informed consent from a minor's parent, guardian, or other person responsible for the minor before issuing a controlled substance prescription to the minor and to establishes sanctions for a prescriber's failure to comply with this requirement.

The Ohio State Medical Board has developed a model START TALKING! consent form that can be used by licensees to comply with the new requirements of ORC Section 3719.061.
