2019 UNDER 40 Award Recipient
Amy Fanous, R.Ph., PharmD, BCACP, CTTS
The Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) announced that Amy Fanous, R.Ph., PharmD, BCACP, CTTS of Dublin, Ohio was honored as a distinguished UNDER 40 award recipient for professional achievements and vision in the practice of pharmacy at its 141st Annual Conference held April 12-14, 2019 in Columbus. This award recognizes the professional achievements of young pharmacists, and advances them in the ranks of top-notch professionals from a variety of careers who have earned UNDER 40 recognition.
Fanous has demonstrated a strong commitment to increasing access to pharmacist-delivered patient care services in medically underserved areas. She played an instrumental role in the establishment of Ohio Northern University’s (ONU) Rural Mobile Health Clinic, where she has served as Project Director since 2015. Fanous is also actively involved in the ONU campus community as a faculty advisor to Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and in her local community through volunteer work at Faith Missions Clinic.
Fanous earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Ohio Northern University, followed by pharmacy residency training at ONU HealthWise. In addition to serving as Project Director of ONU’s Rural Mobile Health Clinic, she is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the university. She also serves as a preceptor for pharmacy residents, and students in their professional experience rotations.
Amy’s response when asked Why do you belong to OPA? The most important benefit I receive from OPA is the ability to connect and network with other pharmacists who share the same passions and interests that I do. Specifically, I appreciate the opportunity to be connected with other pharmacists who are interested in public health and pushing the boundaries of our profession forward through discussion, education, and legislation.
We thank Kroger Pharmacy for exclusively sponsoring the 2019 OPA UNDER 40 Recognition Program.
