Join the Ohio Pharmacists Foundation this October for our Maternal Health Day of Charity to support an underserved community with pharmacists-led maternal health services!
Maternal Health Deserts in Ohio
Mothers across Ohio struggle to access adequate healthcare during pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and in postpartum periods. In Ohio, 13 of our 88 counties – 15% – are considered maternity care deserts. With maternity care unit closures and consolidations, more counties are at risk of becoming maternal health deserts. Ohio mothers are in a crisis.
OPA invites you to help our communities! The Ohio Pharmacists Foundation is proud to host its first-ever Maternal Health Charity Event this Fall, focused on serving underserved communities in Northeast Ohio through pharmacist-led maternal health services. This one-day health fair will provide meaningful care, essential items, and community support for mothers and their children.
You can support this effort by volunteering at the event or donating toward Maternal Health Care Package items, which will be distributed to moms and babies at the event. Organizations are also welcome to sponsor the event or host a table to connect with families directly. Join us in making a difference where it's needed most!
