In this session, Larry Triplett, Co-Found and CEO of Yodel, will explore why events are no longer peripheral to destination marketing - they are central to attracting visitors. Attendees will learn how AI-assisted trip planning is changing traveler behavior and why structured, up-to-date event listings are now critical for visibility and bookings. We'll discuss how destinations can uncover overlooked events, measure new ROI metrics beyond attendance, and leverage local events to build community identity. The presentation will highlight actionable strategies for DMOs to maximize event discoverability, boost tourism impact, and adapt to emerging trends like AI-generated itineraries, niche experiences, and year-round event promotion.
