What does the Education Foundation do you ask?
- Support the funeral service practitioners of today - helping them to better serve their communities.
- Ensure and secure future of the profession by helping recruit and train those wanting a career in funeral service.
The Indiana Funeral Education Foundation is committed to excellence in funeral service education and is proud to offer five (5) $2,000 professional development scholarships. These scholarships are available to any member of IFDA - licensed and un-licensed firm staff, individual, senior, and associate members.
The Indiana Funeral Education Foundation also awards four student scholarships for a total amount of $12,500

Adam Mendler
KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Adam Mendler is a nationally recognized authority on leadership and is the creator and host of Thirty Minute Mentors, where he regularly elicits insights from America's top CEOs, founders, athletes, celebrities, and political and military leaders. He has interviewed more than 500 of America’s most successful leaders and has written extensively on business and leadership, having authored more than 70 articles published in major media outlets including Forbes, Inc., and HuffPost. Adam draws upon his unique background and lessons learned from time spent with America’s top leaders in delivering perspective-shifting insights as a keynote speaker to businesses, universities, and non-profit organizations. Adam has built and led businesses across a variety of industries and previously worked for prominent companies in finance, entertainment, and sports. Adam teaches graduate-level courses on leadership at UCLA, serves on the board of UCLA’s Master of Applied Statistics & Data Science program, is an emeritus member of USC’s Board of Governors, and is an advisor to numerous companies and leaders. A Los Angeles native, Adam is a lifelong Angels fan and an avid backgammon player.
Jack Adams
Embalmer, instructor, speaker
Jack is a 1964 graduate of Worsham College and has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer for 61 years. He has also owned Adams Mortician Service for 27 years.
Jack is a Dodge Co representative for Northern Illinois, ongoing contributing author for Dodge magazine and presenter for Dodge seminars for 29 years.
He has presented for NFDA, spoken throughout the United States and in Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand.
Jack is an Embalming Lab instructor for Worsham College for the past 11 years and is current member of Advisory Board. He is also a long standing member of the British Institute of Embalmers.
Andy Clayton, CFSP
Executive Director, Indiana Funeral Directors Association
Andy Clayton, CFSP, is a second-generation licensed Indiana funeral director and current Executive Director of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association. A graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service and Indiana University, he has been actively involved in funeral service since 1991.
Andy is a Past President of IFDA, 2013-14; a past member of the Indiana State Board of Funeral and Cemetery Service; past Indiana Policy Board Representative to the National Funeral Directors Association; and a lifetime Certified Funeral Service Practitioner, CFSP, through the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice since 2002.
Sharon Gai
An expert in AI and Innovation
Sharon Gai is an expert in AI and innovation. She helps organizations become agile disruptors in their industries so they can increase revenue and retain users. In her tenure at Alibaba,she advised brands and heads of state in crafting their digital strategy with programmatic marketing and AI.
She has been the keynote speaker at TEDx, Singularity University, UBS, Nestle, Deloitte,GS1,·Walmart, Tetra Pak, Twilio, MailChimp, and many other technology companies who look to her unique lens in assessing AI. She is in AAE’s list of Top Keynote Speakers in 2023. She has appeared on ABC, CBC, CCTV, Techcrunch, Retail Asia, Wired, and The Next Web. She is the author of the book, Ecommerce Reimagined. Sharon has an Honors Bachelor’s degree in International Development from McGill and a Masters in Information Management from Columbia University.
Amanda King
Embalmer, Funeral Director and Educator
Amanda Marie Eilis King, CFSP, MBIT, & MSP, is an Embalmer and Funeral Director holding licensure in multiple states, as well as honorary membership to the Belgium Institute of Thanatopraxie. She completed her embalming apprenticeship under Vernie R. Fountain, as well as extensive training in postmortem reconstructive work. In addition to her AAS in Mortuary Science from ACC in Colorado, Amanda holds a B.S. from Skidmore College for Studio Art and Biology, and a Post-Baccalaureate degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She is also an educator who specializes in and teaches reconstructive work and cosmetic application. Her contributions in the field outside of the funeral home include articles, illustrations, and photography for trade journals. Currently she is a Funeral Director and Embalmer for Bailey Family Funeral Homes in CT, and also does freelance work as AMEK Graphics, as well as being an embalming specialist with Frigid Fluid Company.
