Dates and Tentative Schedule

Virtual Experience Will Provide Doctors Throughout the State the Option to Obtain Live CE Requirements Without Having to Leave Home

For our annual Fall Convention, the MAC is proud to be moving forward with a quality CE virtual event, without the cumbersome restrictions currently placed on in-person gatherings. We have found a platform that will seem as if you are attending a live convention! Our plans include an interactive exhibit hall, social areas, classrooms that you can actually join virtually, and the opportunity to view quality, state of the art programs. This virtual experience will provide doctors throughout the state the option to obtain live CE requirements without having to leave home. The MAC Virtual Fall Convention will consist of the following “live” hours, in which the speaker and attendees can communicate with each other:

  • Wednesday, October 7: Annual Meeting: 7-8p (1 CE possible)
  • Thursday, October 8: 12-2p (2 CEs possible)
  • Friday, October 9: 5-8p (3 CEs possible)
  • Saturday, October 10: 8-10a; 2-6p (6 CEs possible)
  • Sunday, October 11: 8a-12p (4 CEs possible)

These hours will also be available “on demand” for a designated time period after the “live” presentation.

Speaker Lineup

Our tentative lineup of speakers for doctors includes Dr. James Chestnut, Dr. Steven Weiniger, Dr. Mario Fucinari, Brad Cost, Dr. Selina Sigafoose-Jackson, Dr. Alan Smith, and Dr. Donna Craft. Our speakers for CA programs includes ChiroHealthUSA’s Mandy Curry and Heather Simmons, and the MAC’s Carl Alden and Stephanie Davidson.

Online Hours Allowed

Michigan’s Chiropractic Administrative Rules allow for 15 online, “distance-learning” hours per two-year renewal cycle. If you are unsure how many live hours vs. online hours you have attended, contact the MAC office at (517) 367-2225 or info@chiromi.com.

Continuing Education and the COVID-19 Pandemic

Please Note: Because of State of Michigan Executive Order 2020-150, if your license expires in 2020, you may be able to renew without completing the required 30 hours of continuing education.

EO 2020-150 allows licensees to renew without the required CE, as long as they do so while Michigan is in a declared state of emergency. The current state of emergency runs through September 4th at 11:59pm. We believe that chiropractors can begin renewing their licenses September 3rd.

While the state of emergency could be extended, it is not guaranteed, so we recommend renewing as soon as possible, if you want to take advantage of this provision. The State of Michigan's license renewal site is now live for chiropractors whose licenses expire in 2020.

If Governor Whitmer extends the state of emergency, we will inform the profession as soon as possible.

If your license expires in 2021, CE credits you complete at our Fall Convention will count toward your 30 hours of CE required by November 30, 2021.
