Not well known is that pro-inflammatory dietary and lifestyle choices create a state of chronic inflammation that compromise immune function and musculoskeletal health. The speaker for this course will outline how obesity, gut dysbiosis, hyperglycemia, and related nutritional imbalances promote viral infection expression and the degeneration of musculoskeletal tissues. Attendees will learn how sugar, flour, and refined oils can inflame the body, how obesity and its related pro-inflammatory chemistry compromise immune and musculoskeletal function, and how diet and supplements to reduce chronic inflammation and promote immune and musculoskeletal health. Topics of discussion include COVID stress syndrome, the lockdown and obesity, why obese people are the primary viral infection vectors, hyperglycemia and coronavirus infection, the expression of chronic inflammation, how gut bacteria augment the diet-induced inflammatory state, the “DeFlaming Process,” immune function in relation to musculoskeletal health, and supplementation of immune and musculoskeletal health.

Sponsored by Anabolic Labs.

8 CEs possible. Pain and Symptom Management. Performance and Ordering of Tests.

Internationally known lecturer and educator Dr. David Seaman is a 1986 graduate of New York Chiropractic College. He has been studying the relationship between diet and chronic inflammation since 1987 and is the first person to author a scientific paper that specifically hypothesized that diets can be pro- or anti-inflammatory. Since that paper about the “diet-induced proinflammatory state” was published in 2002, thousands of papers and numerous books have been published on the topic of diet and inflammation, which is now accepted as mainstream. Dr. Seaman’s original paper was referenced by researchers at the CDC and Harvard University. He is an adjunct faculty member at Logan who was named the ACA’s Academician of the Year for 2006. He is a fellow of the American College of Chiropractors and postgraduate education instructor who speaks at numerous continuing education seminars, conventions, and homecoming events throughout the nation. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Neurologists & American College of Chiropractic Neurology, and the author of numerous books and articles.
