Dr. Walter Kittle – Lansing’s “Dr. Bass” – Releases New Album – Full Circle
Longtime MI Chiropractor Retires from Practice to Return to First Love - Music
On August 12th, longtime Michigan chiropractor and MAC member Dr. Walter Kittle of Holt celebrated the national release of his latest smooth jazz CD – Full Circle – with a “Night of Jazz” world premiere in Lansing. The album consists of 10 new songs composed and arranged by Dr. Kittle himself and his producer.
Full Circle features Dr. Kittle on the relatively unknown instrument called a Piccolo Bass. “When most people hear this album they assume the lead instrument is a jazz guitar, but it actually is a bass,” says Dr. Kittle, who also plays electric 5-string bass and fretless bass, creating a cool modern smooth jazz sound designed to put listeners in a joyful mood.
While Full Circle is Dr. Kittle’s second solo compact disc, it is the first one that will have national radio play. “I went all out this time and hired some of the top producers, musicians and recording engineers in the country.”
Full Circle reflects Dr. Kittle’s journey through his schooling and professional career. “I always loved both science and the arts and couldn’t seem to make up my mind as to which one to pursue. I started playing music when I was 5 years old and thought that when I grew up I could be a rock star. At the same time, I loved science and could see myself producing some scientific breakthrough that would help the world,” he said.
When he entered college, Dr. Kittle had to choose between studying Quantum Mechanics and being a performance major in music. He actually chose music, but later “came to his senses” and changed his major to pre-med and biochemistry. “Don’t get me wrong, I loved helping people as a member of the medical profession and I had a very successful career,” he said.
“Music, however, was always and still is my first love,” Dr. Kittle says. “So that brings us up to today. I have now retired from the medical field and am living my dream of being a full time professional musician. I have traded my left-brain for my right, my suit for a tee shirt, and my reflex hammer for a Piccolo Bass Guitar,” he said.
Downloads of Full Circle are available at cdbaby.com and iTunes. Physical CDs are available at Chiro-Technology Spinal Heath Center in Holt (Dr. Kittles former office), Marshall Music, and Elderly Instruments.

In August Longtime MAC President’s Club member Dr. Lewis G. Squires of Scottville won the Republican nomination for a seat on the Mason County Board of Commissioners, a position he previously held from 2003-2012, including two years as Chair.
Dr. Squires serves the MAC as a member of the Board of Directors, representing District 8. He also serves as a member of the MAC Government Relations Committee and Leadership Committee. In 2012, Dr. Squires was the recipient of the inaugural Kirk A. Lee, DC, Community Champion Award, given “in recognition and appreciation of [his] unselfish commitment to serving others and [his] community.”
Dr. Squires also currently serves on the ACA Board of Governors. He was elected to this important position earlier this year after serving as the Michigan Delegate on the House of Delegates since 2004.
In December 2012, Dr. Squires was appointed by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder to serve on the Michigan Board of Chiropractic. His term ends December 31, 2016.
A Palmer grad, he is also a former President of the Michigan Palmer International Alumni Association. Other awards for Dr. Squires include the International College of Chiropractors Fellow Award, the ACA’s Outstanding Chairman Award, the Michigan Chiropractic Society’s 1993 Chiropractor of the Year, and the Michigan Palmer International Alumni Association Outstanding Alumni President Award.

MAC Doctors Taking Grassroots Action for Rep. Tim Walberg!
Longtime MAC Century Club member Dr. Donna Craft of Ann Arbor and MAC Director of Internal Affairs Dr. Lisa Olszewski of Chelsea recently co-hosted a successful fundraiser for U.S. Representative Tim Walberg of Tipton. A great friend of chiropractic in Congress, Rep. Walberg represents Michigan’s 7th Congressional District, which includes all of Branch, Eaton, Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, and Monroe counties, as well as part of Washtenaw.
Rep. Walberg is a co-sponsor of H.R. 542, the National Health Service Corps Improvement Act. This bill would include chiropractors in the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) loan repayment program, one the largest federal loan relief programs. Currently, chiropractors are unfairly excluded from participating in this important program. For his advocacy for this important bill, Rep. Walberg was given the MAC “Congressional Chiropractic Advocate” Award for 2016.
In August, Congressman Walberg overwhelmingly won the Republican Primary nomination to continue representing Michigan’s 7th.
