MAC Election Results!

Dr. Robert Markle Elected MAC President, Dr. Ken Murkowski, II, Elected Vice President/Director of External Affairs

In November, the MAC Leadership Committee approved the process and votes cast in the election for MAC President and Vice President/Director of External Affairs, as per MAC By-Laws. Here are the results:

Dr. Robert Markle of Bay City was elected President/Director of External Affairs. He currently serves as MAC Vice President/ Director of External Affairs, overseeing the Governmental Relations and Legal Affairs Committees. He has previously served on the Executive Committee as Director of Financial Affairs and Director of Internal Affairs, and on the MAC Board of Directors representing District 5.

Dr. Kenneth Murkowski, II, of Clarkston was elected Vice President/Director of External Affairs. He currently serves as Chair of the MAC Insurance Committee. He has previously served on the MAC Executive Committee as Director of Internal Affairs, overseeing the Ethics/Peer Review, Insurance, and Education/Programs Committees, and as a member of the MAC Board of Directors representing District 7.

Other Executive Committee Positions

At the first meeting of the Board of Directors in 2023, after the newly elected District Representatives assume their offices (see below), the Board will elect one of their members to the position of Director of Financial Affairs and one of their members to the position of Director of Internal Affairs. The two individuals so elected will continue to serve as Representative for their respective Districts. Outgoing MAC President Dr. Lisa Olszewski of Chelsea will serve as the next Chair of the Board.

The first MAC Board of Directors meeting of 2023 is scheduled for January 5th! Stay tuned to all MAC communications channels for more information on our next Director of Financial Affairs and Director of Internal Affairs after the beginning of the new year!

District Elections for MAC Board and District Officers

Also in November, chiropractors from across the state joined together for the MAC’s November Virtual All-District Meeting. Foremost on the agenda was district elections, in which half of the seats on the MAC Board of Directors and all district officer positions were up for election. District 2 held their elections at an in-person venue the following week. ​​​

The terms for the newly elected members of the Board of Directors begin January 1st and run through December 31, 2024. The terms for all district officers run throughout the 2023 calendar year.

The results of these important elections are as follows:

2023 District Election Results

District 1Dr. Barry Hobbs of Livonia was re-elected to serve another two-year term on the MAC Board of Directors. Dr. Susan Blaskay of Livonia was re-elected to serve another one-year term as District 1 President, and Dr. Hobbs was elected to a one-year term as Vice President.

District 2Dr. Eric DiMartino of Chesterfield Township was elected to serve a two-year term on the MAC Board of Directors. Dr. DiMartino served as MAC President from 2019-2020 and Chairman of the Board from 2021-2022. Dr. Elra Morgan of Marine City was re-elected to another one-year term as District 2 President, Dr. Mackenzie Goss of Sterling Heights will continue as District 2 Treasurer, and Dr. Jack Goss of Sterling Heights will continue as Secretary.

District 3Dr. Sara Whedon of Rochester was re-elected to serve another two-year term on the MAC Board of Directors. Dr. Rick Levine of Southfield was re-elected to a one-year term as District 3 President, and Dr. Adam Rodnick of Commerce Township was re-elected Vice President.

District 4Dr. John Smarch of Hillsdale was re-elected to serve another two-year term on the MAC Board of Directors, and also re-elected to another term as District 4 President. Dr. Dan Painter of Hillsdale was elected to a one-year term as Vice President.

District 5Dr. Michael Dense of South Haven was re-elected to serve another two-year term on the MAC Board of Directors. Dr. Corey Rodnick of Midland was re-elected to another one-year term as District 5 President, Dr. Paul Rodnick of Saginaw was re-elected to another term as Vice President, Dr. Dan Greene of Prescott was re-elected to another term as Treasurer, and Dr. Khaled El-Ganainy of Burton was re-elected Secretary.

District 6Dr. M. Douglas Lynes of Portage was re-elected to serve another two-year term on the MAC Board of Directors. Dr. Jeromy Myers of Battle Creek was elected to serve another one-year term as District 6 President, and Dr. Tiffany Newcastle of Kalamazoo was elected to her first term as Vice President.

District 7Dr. Ron Wilcox, Jr. of Comstock Park was re-elected to serve a two-year term on the MAC Board of Directors. Dr. Nicole Tilton of Middleville was elected to her first one-year term as President, Dr. David Ireland of Grand Haven will continue as Vice President, and Dr. Kelli Wilcox-DeGraaf of Comstock Park will continue as Treasurer.

District 8Dr. Lewis Squires of Scottville was re-elected to serve another two-year term on the MAC Board of Directors. Dr. Brandon Turino of Marquette was re-elected to another one-year term as District 8 President.
