Howard Family Bookstore 13803 Puritan Avenue, Detroit
The Michigan Black Professional Planners invite you to Bridging the Gap: A Guide for Making Planning Language Work for People!
Urban planning operates within complex government systems that are often inaccessible. This workshop explores how planners can serve as interpreters and navigators between communities and bureaucratic systems. Participants will leave with tools/strategies to communicate with communities confidently about government processes and reduce barriers to participation and understanding.
Facilitated by the organization Sista City, including Dominque Boyer, Gabrielle Sherrer, and Reshonda Williams
The Howard Family Bookstore is located on the corner of Puritan Avenue and Lesure Street. There is ample street parking available on Lesure Street.
