Williams & Works seeks a Community Planning intern to work with our growing Planning and Design Team. The applicant should be enrolled in a graduate-level urban planning, public policy, geography, or similar field or have recently graduated from such a program. The selected individual will participate in active community master planning, parks & recreation planning, nonmotorized planning, subarea planning, private development, and zoning projects. Interns will also participate in community engagement strategies with other team members in client communities and provide support for municipal planning projects involving site plan reviews, community development, GIS applications, and data research and analysis reporting. This internship is an in-office position that requires the ability to foster and maintain strong working relationships with other professionals and clients and the ability to participate in multi-faceted planning, development, and zoning assignments.
This is a part-time, paid internship at our downtown Grand Rapids office. The position consists of 24 hours of work per week; however, more hours may be available up to 40 hours a week depending on the applicant’s qualifications and project needs.
