The promise of speech recognition and computational linguistics in psychiatry

Study results demonstrate that it is possible to extract significant amount of information from voice recordings of patients engaged in naturalistic or minimally structured speech tasks.

The studies include differential diagnosis of psychosis, prediction of psychosis onset, detection of psychoactive drug intake and progression of neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s and MCI/Alzheimer’s.

Attend OPPA's Annual Psychiatric Update and hear from Guillermo Cecchi, PhD, who will discuss the promises and challenges for the clinical implementation of the approach.
