Racial Inequities in Physical and Chemical Restraint Use in the Emergency Psychiatric Setting

This webinar addresses current research on racial inequalities in physical and chemical restraint use in the emergency psychiatric setting. Participants will learn about the impact of unconscious bias and structural racism on patient care. Participants will be inspired to self-examine their own biases and to make changes in their practice that reduce race-based inequities. Each Spring, the OPPA holds its Annual Psychiatric Update where we bring together experts and thought leaders and experts from across the nation and across the state to address various aspects of psychiatric practice, including best practices and cutting edge advances in the treatment of mental illness and addiction disorders.

Periodically, the OPPA holds an annual update to share the latest information specifically targeted to meet the needs of Ohio's child and adolescent psychiatrists, as well as other physicians, including pediatricians and family physicians, and other mental health clinicians, who treat children and adolescents.

Other Workshops

Periodically, the OPPA provides CPT Coding and/or DSM-5 workshops based on the needs of its members. These information-packed classes designed for new or experienced billing and coding staff, managers and physicians who provide psychiatry and mental health services.
