Suicides across Ohio have climbed 45% since 2007

According to a recent report by the Ohio Department of Health, between 2007 and 2018, suicide deaths increased 45% among all age groups and by 56% among youths ages 10 to 24, according to state health officials. Over the past dozen years, 18,391 Ohioans have died by suicide. The most common method of suicide is firearms, followed by hanging and drug overdose, the report said.

Important survey on prior authorization

The Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association, in partnership with the Ohio State Medical Association and the rest of the House of Medicine, requests input from medical practices across Ohio regarding prior authorization. The goal of this survey is to assess experiences with payers since the passage of Senate Bill 129, legislation aimed at improving and streamlining the prior authorization process. Read More
