Joint Medicaid oversight committee members named
Appointments to the newly created Joint Medicaid Oversight Committee (JMOC) were recently announced by legislative leadership.
JMOC was created by passage of Senate Bill (SB) 206 for the purpose of providing legislative oversight of Ohio’s Medicaid program on a continuous basis. The sponsor of SB 206, Senator Dave Burke (R-Marysville) will serve as JMOC chair. Representative Barbara Sears (R-Sylvania) will serve as JMOC vice chair.
Members of JMOC include:
Senators: Dave Burke (R-Marysville), Chair, William Coley (R-West Chester), Chris Widener (R-Springfield), Capri Cafaro (D-Hubbard) and Charleta Tavares (D-Columbus)
Representatives: Barbara Sears (R-Sylvania), Vice-Chair, Ryan Smith (R-Gallipolis), Robert Sprague (R-Findlay), Nickie Antonio (D-Lakewood), and Vernon Sykes (D-Akron)
The group is expected to hold its initial meeting sometime in April.
