Organization Description:  

Join Achievement Centers for Children, a well-respected non-profit agency serving children and adults with disabilities and their families, as the Director of Adult Day Services. This leadership position is responsible for providing a meaningful day program for adults with disabilities on the campus of Camp Cheerful in Strongsville. Some evening/weekend hours may be required. Flexible hours are available.

Position Description:

Leads all efforts to ensure the ACC Adult Day Services programs are an engaging and safe environment for clients, operating within the compliance expectations of the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and other regulatory bodies and ensuring the program meets budget expectations.

Duties:

  • Leads, develops and oversees the River Rock Adult Day Program.
  • Budget creation and managing expenses
  • Interviewing, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating River Rock staff.
  • Public relations, outreach and marketing Adult Day Services to individuals, support administrators, school groups, parent groups and various organizations.
  • Maintains subject matter expertise related to the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and other accrediting bodies.
  • Ensure safety of the grounds and buildings and communicates concerns to supervisor
  • Ensures incident reports are completed accurately and timely.
  • Acts as an active member of the recreation and agency leadership team.
  • Work in collaboration with other recreation leaders and staff.
  • Participates with VP of Recreation and Adult Services in developing and implementing an annual plan for professional growth with the annual evaluation, agency goals and strategic plan.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • 5+ years experience in staff supervision.
  • Courses and/or training in program administration and management.
  • Team building and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Public speaking skills and experience.
  • Excellent computer skills 
  • Budget development experience 
  • One year job-related disability experience preferred

Full-time, exempt
