Obituary for Anthony W. Guerriero, Sr.

Retired Funeral Director/Owner, Husband of Rosemary, Father of Micheline and Terence Guerriero, all of Guerriero Funeral Home

Anthony William Guerriero, Sr., beloved husband and father passed on to his most-deserved, heavenly rewards on August 27, 2022. He is preceded in death by parents William Dominic and Rose (DiGiacomo) Guerriero and sister Caroline (Guerriero) Snyder.

Anthony was born June 25, 1942 in Ashtabula, Ohio, where he attended Pacific Street School, Columbus Jr. High School, and Saint John High School. Anthony graduated from Youngstown State University and Cincinnati College of Embalming. Anthony is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Rosemary (Michelini) Guerriero, and five children, Gabriele (Scott) Pierce, Anthony Jr., Terence (Kathy) Guerriero, Alexandra (Seth Lederer) Guerriero, and Micheline (Bob Licata) Guerriero, five grandchildren, Olivia Pierce, Alexis Pierce, Justin Nelson, Lorelei Licata, Estelle Licata, and many nieces and nephews.

Anthony owned and operated Guerriero Funeral Home and Memorials prior to retirement. He was also an ambulance driver and Guerriero Memorials stone carver. Anthony was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, life member of Sons of Italy of America Ashtabula 1169, life member of East Ashtabula Club, life member of Knights of Columbus Ashtabula Council 360, Sir Knight Leo J. Kane Assembly, OFDA, and NFDA. A dedicated husband, father, and friend, he enjoyed sharing his many hobbies including construction, architecture, fishing, vacationing, playing cards, and watching football and old westerns with family and friends. The name Guerriero translates to Warrior in Italian. Anthony had a fierce and loving heart and truly exemplified his name. He will be missed tremendously and remembered forever.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday September 1 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 at Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
