Presidents Message

President's Message
The Season of Miracles

The magic of the holiday season is here once again. It's time for the annual miracle to occur. You'll see and hear it everywhere, mirrored in a child's eyes in a friendlier greeting a warmer handshake a brighter smile.

It's the time of year when everybody seems to put his best self forward and we become convinced that our hopes for a better world for more brotherhood among us can really come true.

It is a special time of giving and sharing. A time when we reflect on our memories of childhood and the traditions each of us were given as we grew, demonstrating again, that Today Is Built On Yesterday.

To those of us having the honor to be members of the funeral profession, the holidays always hold special significance. We look back with satisfaction to the many families we have had the honor to have served even in their darkest hour. We also seek ways of serving even better, and we resolve to do that in the year ahead.

From a professional standpoint, also, we should be looking forward to the New Year to better prepare ourselves for the challenges and opportunities that await us. We should be making plans to participate in the educational opportunities available to us, like the Annual Educational Conference in Hawaii, but most important, the OFDA Annual Convention in April. Ken Cahall, President-Elect, is planning exciting, relaxing and fun educational opportunities for us all.

In preparing for the holiday season, the officers, their families, the Board of Directors and the staff at OFDA all wish only the best and happiest of holiday seasons to you and your families. Have a blessed, peaceful New Year.
