Obituary for Sharon Stiffler

Wife of Frederick L. Stiffler, Funeral Director/Embalmer of Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home

Sharon (Yates) Stiffler, age 59 of Oak Hill, wife of Frederick L. Stiffler - funeral director/embalmer at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio, was called home on August 24, 2017.  Sharon was born on October 26, 1957 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Carl and Selma (Strickland) Yates of Oak Hill.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister Karen Carter.

Sharon spent many years working at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department as a dispatcher and other facets of the sheriff’s department.  Sharon always enjoyed the time she got to spend with her family, as those were the most precious moments to her.  Any time there was good food involved, she was always at the front of the line.  Sharon had a list of friends that stretched into several countries, and treated them as thou they were her next-door neighbors - always there to listen or to pray for them.

In addition to her husband, Fred Stiffler, she is survived by her two children, Tonya Stumbo, of Grove City, Ohio and Carla (Sean) Taylor, of Jackson; one grandson, Nathan Royster; two granddaughters, Jessica Taylor and Alianna Royster; one great granddaughter, Aaliyah Montes.  Also surviving are her sisters, Linda (Herb) Simpson of Oak Hill and Valorie (Roger) Miller of Oak Hill; brothers, Randy (Alison) Yates of Hudson, Ohio and Aric (Patty) Yates of Jackson, along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family called on Sunday, August 27th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio.  Funeral followed with Evangelist Cal Ray Evans officiating.  Burial was at the Monroe Cemetery, Oak Hill, Ohio.
