Obituary for James Brown
Employee of Newcomer Funeral Homes
James Eugene Brown, "Jim" age 76 of Dayton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born March 20,1947 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Lawrence and Lucille Brown.
Jim served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base after 30 years of employment as Fire Chief. Following retirement, he volunteered at various fire departments in the Greater Dayton area. Most recently, he was employed with Newcomer Funeral Homes. Jim loved sports cars and going to car shows. He also enjoyed playing golf and traveling. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. Jim impacted many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Cinda; daughters, Georgianne (Eric) Lowman and Lauren (Joe) Hartings; step-daughter, Lynn (Jason) Norris; granddaughters, Ava Lowman, Addy Lowman, and Jocelyn Hartings; step-granddaughters, Violet Norris and Rose Norris; sister, Rita Jost; nephews, Dean Jost and Tom (Deanna) Jost; great nephew, Brandon (Kristen) Jost; as well as numerous loving relatives, friends, and coworkers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459). Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm, with military honors.
