Peg was a 1953 graduate of St. Joseph Academy in Cleveland and attended Ursuline College in Pepper Pike. She then had a short career in the travel business prior to marrying and starting her family. Although thoroughly enjoying her travel career, her life’s calling was to be a mother of ten children, a calling she loved above all else.
Peg was a proud supporter of St Edward High School from its infancy. Her husband was a member of the First Graduating class in 1953. Having eight sons, it was an easy choice that they all attend St. Ed’s. Add to that a son-in-law and three grandsons and she has been connected with St. Edwards for more than 70 years. Peg also supported Magnificat High School. Both her daughters and two granddaughters were Blue Streaks. She enjoyed many Magnificat events especially Night in Blue.
Peg was a life long fan and supporter of the University of Notre Dame. Her first “Go Irish” battle cries began while her brother attended ND, followed by her future husband. Her son and granddaughter would become ND graduates too. Many years as a season ticket holder followed. Soon, fall weekends and Notre Dame football were inseparable. When not attending games in South Bend she was involved with the Notre Dame Club of Cleveland. Peg traces many lifelong friendships through her Notre Dame ties.
Peg was a devout Catholic and avid supporter of Catholic vocations. She served as Maryknoll Brunch coordinator and was active with Serra International of Cleveland for many years. She was also an active member of St. Bernadette Church for almost 60 years.
