Ohio's 2012 Opiate Summit: Miles Traveled - Miles Ahead

On May 7th and 8th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Columbus, the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities (OACBHA) will hold Ohio’s 2012 Opiate Summit: Miles Traveled – Miles Ahead. The Summit will be offered in partnership with the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services and the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission.

Attendees will have the chance to participate in one of three workshops on the afternoon of May 7. The workshops being offered are DATA 2000, Operation Street Smart and The Opiate Epidemic and its Impact on Medical and Clinical Practices.

The keynote speaker on May 8th will be Gil Kerlikowske, the Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy. That morning, Ohio’s state and local leaders will also share their insights on battling opiate abuse. The afternoon will feature 20 breakout sessions in which a diverse cross-section of professionals will discuss the epidemic’s legal, health and community implications, as well as strategies to confront it.
