Collaborative and Creative Efforts Bring Together a Strong Community for the Global Conference 2006

The National Career Development Association is very excited about the upcoming 2006 NCDA Global Conference to be held July 7-9 in Chicago, Illinois at the Hilton Chicago Hotel. We are expecting over 1,000 attendees at the premiere conference for career development professionals across all areas of career development and in all settings. This year's conference theme is Honoring Community: Creativity and Collaboration.

Martha Russell, 2005-2006 NCDA President, states "that NCDA's community, our diverse membership, people we serve, and the way we deliver services, were focal points in selecting the 2006 conference theme". The 2006 Program Planning Committee received a large number of outstanding conference proposals. After a complete review of the proposals and much discussion, the 2006 conference program is now set. The program features 12 Professional Development Institutes that will be held prior to the start of the conference on Thursday, July 6, 2 well-known keynote speakers, 5 outstanding Featured Sessions, over 90 presentations, and over 50 roundtable sessions. Back by popular demand is the NCDA Teleconference which will be held on Friday, July 7, 3:20 - 6:00 p.m. Last year, 23 sites joined the teleconference including 3 international sites. New this year is the Creativity Lab. The Creativity Lab will be available throughout the entire conference. Patricia Bechtold, coordinator of the Creativity Lab, says "this lab is designed for you to tap into the magic of creativity by joining fellow attendees in exploring the world of creativity in Career Counseling".
