Background information about the Asia Career Development Conference (sent by Ahmed Mostafa):
UNICEF has offered to host the 2nd ACDC in Egypt by the 2nd half of the Coming August as part of several career development activities and camps. Activities planned to start by 12th August” international youth day” followed by one week camp for 200 participants then 3 days conference, and finally 1 more week camp for 100 participants. It planned to be the biggest event in the entire region that includes all what I have mentioned. I believe NCDA representatives would be a value added for both sides; with such a big event hosted by the UN and incorporates with the Egyptian government “Ministry of Youth” NCDA involvement will add a lot of credit to you in the region. The regional UNICEF director and the Minister and other representatives from government and international organization will be involved. I hope you can consider being as a partner to this event with more engagement during the conference. (I clarified “partner” which essentially means our presence but no additional financial commitment.)
Background information about the King Saud University Event (sent by Anas Alshalan, Project Director for NCDA’s KSU Agreement)
King Saud University, in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Fund of Saudi Arabia, will host a multi-day event introducing career development concepts and the work KSU/HRDF is doing with NCDA, to the region. A Youth focused day is scheduled, along with a Career Development Day for higher education staff and faculty, during this Exposition. NCDA will be given a free exhibit booth for the event, and we have invited ministers of education from the various neighboring countries. We ask for 2 NCDA keynote presenters and key staff who have worked on the KSU – HRDF agreement to be available to answer questions about the FCD Training and CCSP Credential.
If this motion does pass, the funds will be taken out of the KSU agreement’s funds that NCDA retains and added as a new line item in the budget. We feel this is a good investment in additional work in the region.
Motion Passes
