Kathy M. Evans, Ph.D., LPC, CCCE, Professor Emerita of the Counselor Education Program at the University of South Carolina was President of NCDA 2019-2020. She has published widely in career counseling with over twenty publications devoted to career issues, including two books: Synthesizing family, career, and culture: A model for counseling in the twenty-first century and Gaining Cultural Competence in Career Counseling. She created the first graduate certificate program in career development for the University of South Carolina and supervised the fieldwork of the students in the program. Dr. Evans was the 2016 recipient of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision’s Lifetime Achievement Award. From 2015-2017, she served as the Trustee for Counselor Educators and Researchers for NCDA.
Aubrey L. Sejuit, Ph.D., LMSW, LCAS, MEd, CASAC-2, CCSP, Assistant Professor of Social Work and a Counselor for the Sib Collins Counseling Center at Limestone University is a Co-Founder and former Ethics & Bylaws Committee Chair for the South Carolina Career Development Association (SCCDA). Prior to working at Limestone University, she served as an Assistant Professor of Counseling and as the Counseling Program Coordinator for Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Center for Graduate Studies of Columbia, SC. She is also an adjunct instructor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program at South University and in the Human Services (HS) program at Midlands Technical College, both in Columbia, SC. Dr. Sejuit is an Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) veteran who served with the 203D MI BN in Baghdad, Iraq as an Intelligence Analyst and earned the Joint Service Achievement Medal (JSAM) among other awards. She is also a Co-Founder of the Veterans Alumni Council (VAC) at the University of South Carolina, where she earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision and served under the mentorship of Dr. Kathy M. Evans. Dr. Sejuit was the 2019 recipient of the South Carolina Counseling Association’s Distinguished Professional Service Award.
