CDF Advisory Council - Brian Ophus

Brian Ophus joins the Advisory council as the military and veterans representative for the NCDA.  He is currently the Northwest Minnesota Veterans Employment Representative for the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.  Brian served in the Minnesota Army National Guard from October of 2001 until November of 2009; during this time he was deployed on multiple tours to include a ten month deployment to Bosnia, and a twenty-two month deployment to Iraq.  Since exiting the military he has been a strong advocate for veterans by founding a non-profit organization “Wounded Warriors Guide Service, Inc.”, which helps disabled veterans work through their struggles by taking them on hunting and fishing trips throughout North America.

Brian has his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Bemidji State University and is pursuing his Masters in Social Work with intentions of getting his independent License in Clinical Social Work. Brian holds a Global Career Development Facilitator credential and is a member of the Minnesota Career Development Association.
