House Subcommittee Holds Hearing on Water Resources and Environment

OABA Board Member Provides Testimony on Efforts in Western Lake Erie Basin

The U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment held a hearing Sept. 30 reviewing the progress and challenges in restoring Lake Erie. As an important resource for the United States and Canada, the quality of the Great Lake system is a high priority for interested parties.

The hearing allowed interested parties to provide testimony on issues surrounding the Great Lakes. The committee is chaired by Congressman Bob Gibbs (R-OH). Doug Busdeker, a member of the Ohio AgriBusiness Association Board of Directors, provided testimony addressing the positive agricultural activities taking place in the Western Lake Erie Basin, including the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Certification Program.
