OABA Member Health Benefits Update

OABA has previously offered members access to the Ohio Farm Bureau Health Benefits Plan as an option for employee health coverage. Ohio Farm Bureau has announced that this plan will end effective December 31, 2026. Coverage for existing participants will remain in place through the end of the year.

Beginning in 2027, Ohio Farm Bureau will partner with the Southern Ohio Chamber Alliance (SOCA) to offer eligible Ohio Farm Bureau members access to the SOCA Benefit Plan, providing a group health coverage option for employers and small businesses.

What This Means for Current Participants

OABA members currently enrolled in the Ohio Farm Bureau Health Benefits Plan should work directly with their insurance agent or broker to review their coverage options and prepare for the transition.

What This Means for Employers Seeking Coverage

The existing Ohio Farm Bureau Health Benefits Plan is no longer accepting new groups for coverage beginning in 2026. Employers seeking coverage before January 1, 2027 should work with their insurance broker to explore available options.
